VERDICT!!!

This morning's local headlines gave me something to be so glad about!

Four talents won their labor case filed against ABS-CBN Naga. This is actually the fourth win! According to Labor here, ABS-CBN Naga's (headed by Station Manager AGV) decision to terminate TV reporters Monina Avila and Tina Sumayao, cameraman Gener del Valle and driver/cameraman Nelson Begino was ILLEGAL. Labor has it that "being talents" is NOT a justifiable cause for termination.

Labor's verdict also indicated that ABS-CBN Naga has been ordered to give the aforementioned talents almost 2.5M pesos (inclusive of OT, holiday pay, attorney fees, etc) as damages. Also, Tina, Gener, Nelson and Monina must be reinstated to ABS-CBN Naga.

Now isn't that something to be happy about?

I've worked with Tina, Daddy Gen and Nelson years ago. I know that these guys are very hardworking and dedicated to their craft. I haven't met Monina yet but I know that she's also a toughie. Thank you for fighting this/our fight and for believing that no network TV giant will always be invincible "sa boses ng masa".
