Word Play

It's the last week of September already. So far, this is only my (short) second entry for this month. I haven't been updating for some time because I've been sidetracked by other matters. Hopefully, I'll be able to post more in the coming days.
On a side note:
"Thank you for calling Wayward Enterprise. This is Sam speaking. How may I assist you?"
"Thank you for calling Wendy's, we appreciate your business. My name is Sam. May I take your order please?"
"Good morning, reservations department. This is Sam speaking. How can I help you today?"
"Thank you for calling Piper's Pickle Packs. My name is Sam. How may I be of service to you?"
...and then some. Try saying the sentences above...over and over and over. Don't forget to emphasize certain words, have a varied intonation every time and practice as if your life depends on it.

Finally! An update...

I've come to expect the unexpected.

It's always best to keep an open mind on all the things you can and can't control. Like people (you can't do much about how people think of you or how they think about things either). Like time (of course, no one can control time). Like the weather (it's strange that we're having "summer weather" here in the PI until January 2007. Like love (it's a risk worth taking, right?). Like friendship (friends come and go for all kinds of reasons). Like your hair (people go prematurely bald, go gray, loose hair and gain face...). Like the wrinkles on your face (laughlines? crow's feet? botox, anyone?). And-whatever-comes-to-mind...

The past months have been tough. I've never known any kind of emptiness like this. Painful. Yet always a learning experience. Makes me think that if I was able to handle this, there's nothing out there can take me by surprise anymore. Forrest Gump once said "Life is like a box of chocolate. You'll never know what you'll gonna get...". Deal with the unexpected. Get a grip. Breathe deep. Do what you can. Move on.

On another note, is it any good to ask a person to change how he/she is? Just because you think that it'll do him/her good? Hmmm...I've always believed that change is a personal decision. You either want it or not. Own it or not. Nobody has the right to impose anything on anyone. Like: would you tell a girl (she's a friend) to change her sense of style because it affects her personality and the way people look at her? Is it right to tell a girl who loves everything that's colored black to change her color preference because someone thinks it affects her credibility? Huh?

Let's see...I admit, I will always be a sucker for romance. I will always want a happy ending. Sometimes I see the world through rose-colored glasses. I even have a BIG crush on Frederick Schilling (of Dagoba's Organic Chocolate). His wonderful picture is my desktop's screen saver. A girl can dream, right? And Frederick is such a dream!

Finally, I'm hoping that whatever reason a certain man have for being in touch with me again...it's the right reason. I don't know if he is back for good or just passing through. We'll see where this unfolds.
